Setting up a Flex Period

If you're looking for a way to make it easier for students to receive extra help and support during the school day, consider using SmartPass to set up a Flex Period! SmartPass can help make this process more efficient by providing a way for teachers to invite students to come to their classrooms during Advisory Times.

Benefits

  • Students can receive extra help and support without interrupting the lesson.
  • Teachers can keep track of their students' history of passes and monitor learning time missed.
  • Students feel empowered and in control of their learning experience.
  • SmartPass can create a more efficient system for teachers with a large number of students.

How to implement

  1. Use the Future Pass feature to invite students to come to your classroom during Advisory Times to work on assignments, make-up tests, or complete missing assignments.
  2. Each Advisory period, students are required to check SmartPass to see if they have been requested by their teachers.
  3. Students can request passes to come to Advisory for help, and teachers can use SmartPass to keep track of their history of passes. This can be especially helpful for teachers with a large number of students.
  4. Students can fill out their pass and turn their device screen toward the teacher to signal that they are ready to leave. Teachers can start the pass when they are ready to let the student leave, and students can end the pass when they return.
